We recommend helpful products in our articles. Read our full disclosure here.

Rare are those people who have never stumbled upon big barriers in life!..

Life is meant to be made of ups and downs – and sometimes it even becomes monotonous. We get used to dealing with those little difficulties on the way, but what can hit us hard are the sudden, big, dramatic changes that make us hit rock bottom. These are the events or tragedies that hit our physical and mental health so hard that it seems so difficult to get out. This can also be a financial, family, or any other issue.

These roadblocks make us lose all of our hope, and leave us drowning in darkness… But, if you leave yourself at this point, are you being just to yourself? Life is hard and it teaches us many lessons now and then, but what matters most if how we rise back, especially when we have hit rock bottom. In fact, times like these can be a defining moment in your life and  give you the courage and confidence to face anything in the future.

If you are on that edge of your life right now, it is time to refresh your energy and come back even stronger! Here are some of the most effective tips that you can follow gradually to get back when you have hit rock bottom.

*Before I begin… Please know that this is not medical advice. Please seek help if you experience extremely strong negative feelings – you deserve to get help, just like any other person!*

How To Rebuild Your Life After You’ve Hit Rock Bottom

1) Figure Out Why You Feel Unhappy Right Now

If you want to move forward, you need to stop and think about what is keeping you from doing that.

Sometimes, we are just overwhelmed with our emotions, not even knowing the main cause of our unhappiness. Sit back, relax, and make a list of the things that bother you or the people who are playing a negative role in your life. It is time to decide about your priorities and get back on your feet! Get rid of the negative things in your life and make space for the positive ones.

2) Seek Support

In a time of crisis, you get to know the real faces of people around you… And I’m not talking about those fake friends.

When you hit rock bottom, you will realize that there are people who are there for you and who want to help you get back on your feet. Hold on these people, don’t let them go, seek help from them when you are feeling lonely and lost. We are meant to help each other when we need it the most, so don’t be too proud to accept help as well.

3) Reclaim Control

The only people who are unable to rise from rock bottom are those who have given their life away. They don’t think it is in their control anymore.

That is a big mistake and you ought to avoid it! YOU HAVE control over your life. When you put yourself back together and remind yourself that you are the only one who can change things in your life, nothing can touch you anymore.

Nothing from the outside can change the way you think about yourself and the way you want to lead your life.

4) Follow Your Passion

When you have hit rock bottom, it is the perfect time to think about the things you want from your life. You had passions, destinations to reach, goals to achieve before you got into all this situation.

Rekindle that motivation and encourage yourself to get back on your feet. Your passion awaits you, and you can’t reach your destination by only dreaming of it. It is difficult at the moment, that’s why you should take it slow for now – and that’s completely fine as long as you’re moving forward. Take a small step every day and you WILL find your way towards your destination.

5) Adopt Healthy Habits

If you are going to sit idle all day thinking about what you have lost, nothing is going to change. For how long can you stay like that? How long can you allow this misery to hold you down?

Start changing this by doing small things, adapting the habits that are healthy, fun or interesting. You must do something that brings you peace. For instance, you can spend time gardening, or you can meditate for 10-15 minutes every day, create a new skincare routine or do anything else that pleases you. This will bring small changes in your life that you will actually love and it will gently push you to move on with your life.

When you hit rock bottom, it might feel like the end of a good life, but it is not. You deserve to be happy just like any other person and if you don’t help yourself do this, nobody can.

Start today, take small steps, bring small changes, and move towards a new life. It is time to leave that darkness and move towards light because life has so many amazing things prepared for you. Get up and greet them. You will be okay.
