Our face is the first thing that people notice when they look at us, and every woman desires to have a beautiful and toned face.

If you see that your cheeks have gotten a little too chubby for your taste, or you have a double chin and want to get a slimmer face, I’m here to help! In this article, I will go through some excellent workouts and dietary modifications that you can do to achieve the chiseled jawline of your dreams!

 

How To Make Your Face Slimmer

 

Facial exercises

 

Facial exercises are great to tone the muscles in your face, slim down the appearance of your face and reduce signs of aging (like wrinkles). Here are some simple & easy facial exercises that you can practice along with the other tips to get faster and better results!

  1. Start by sucking in your cheeks as much as possible, and make a fish mouth appearance. Tilt your head to the back and extend your neck so that you can see the ceiling. Hold this position for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times a day. This exercise is terrific to tone the cheek muscles and define the cheekbones
  2. Puff up your cheeks as much as you can, and push the air from one cheek to another. Do this side to side motion for 10 seconds and repeat a few times throughout the day. This will improve the appearance of smile lines and help to slim out the face.
  3. Make alternative ‘X’ and ‘O’ shapes with your mouth. Repeat for 30 seconds. This workout improves the muscle tone around the face and defines the jawline.

 

Exercise regularly

 

If your face is looking puffy and chubby, chances are that it’s a result of increased body fat rather than an isolated event.

If you want to slim down your face, you have to get rid of the excess body fat and maintain a healthy weight. Exercise is a great way to lose weight and incorporating aerobic and cardio exercises in your routine work wonders to melt off fat.

Try to get at least 45 minutes of exercise 6 days a week, and make sure that the workout is increasing your heart rate significantly. You will begin to see the results soon.

 

Reduce refined carbohydrates in your diet

 

Refined carbs are heavily processed carbohydrates, and all the right nutrients, fiber, and vitamins are removed. What’s left behind is complex sugars and calories, both of which are major culprits that cause weight gain and increased fat storage.

These refined carbs have a very high glycemic index that causes your blood sugar to spike instantly and drop after just a few minutes. The result? You get hungry soon and indulge in overeating and as a result, you may also get a puffier face.

Try to avoid processed items like bread and pasta, and replace them with whole grains if you want to lose weight and get a slimmer face.

 

Limit your sodium intake

 

Sodium is an ion that prevents the excretion of excess water and causes fluid retention, which results in bloating, swelling, and puffiness of the face. If you want to make your face slimmer, you must regulate the amount of salt in your diet.

Cut down on junk food and processed food items that contain high amounts of sodium, and reduce the amount of salt you use while cooking.

 

Increase your fluid intake

 

Water is crucial for life, and it has incredible benefits for our health and well-being. If you want to slim down your face and lose weight, you should increase your intake of water. Let me explain how it works!

Water boosts your metabolism and increases the number of calories your body can burn in a set time. It also promotes satiety and keeps you feeling full, and therefore it reduces food intake. Water also helps to prevent bloating and puffiness by regulating the amount of salt and urea in the body. These are the reasons why it’s crucial to up your intake of water.

However, steer clear of soft drinks and sugary sodas!

 

Cut down the alcohol

 

Alcohol is fine, and having an occasional glass of wine after a long day can reduce stress and improve the mood (at moderation, of course!).

The problem arises when you start consuming too much alcohol. Basically, alcohol is just empty calories with minimal nutrients and minerals, and it causes a rapid increase in weight. Don’t forget the bloating, dehydration, and headaches that it may cause as well!

If you are trying to achieve a slimmer face, it is best to cut down your alcohol consumption to one or 2 drinks a week.
