Are you too busy to take care of yourself? Constantly rushing to work, lectures or everywhere else apart from a spa? Yes, me too! Busy lifestyles are hitting all of us, but I’ve learned to stop and spend some time on myself often – and you can too, pretty.

Self-care is incredibly important and it’s not because it’s so trendy right now.

Making changes in that affect your body, mind, and soul has a balancing effect.

By taking better self care you can truly live a better life!

So how do you begin?

If you’ve never practiced self care, don’t worry – it’s not hard at all.

In fact, it’s actually a real pleasure once you start developing a real, loving connection with you and your body.

I’ve found that the best way to get used to self care is to start with the basics and then add more with time.

In this article, I will list the basic body, mind and soul care activities you can start doing today to start practicing self care and achieving a whole new mind, soul and body wellness level.

Basic Self Care Guide For Beginners

 

1) Basic Self Care For Your SOUL

 

  • Meditate

If you haven’t tried it yet, you probably think that meditation is sitting cross-legged and humming in a quiet room.

While it may actually include such activities, meditation is more about reflecting on how you are feeling physically at the moment.

The way you breathe, how tense or relaxed your muscles are and how you can clear up your mind – these are a part of different meditation activities.

You can redefine meditation by using it as a tool to ask yourself: “Am I really okay? If not, why?”.

Or you can take the traditional route of clearing your mind of all thoughts and simply being still.

Concentrating on your breath. Not thinking about anything.

Keeping your inner balance makes you healthier and happier.

  • Surround Yourself with Positive Energy

Yes, I actually consider it one of the self care basics!

Surround yourself with people that support and encourage you. Ditch relationships that are hard or sucking your energy out.

Allow yourself to have friends and family who are real, solid features in your life.

Reach out to your family if you are not that close.

Water is healthy, has zero carbs or calories, cleanses you and is great for your skin.

Mark it as a priority every day!

  • Laugh More

Take the time to do things that entertain and make you laugh.

Laughing releases healthy chemicals (endorphins) that can make you look more attractive and improve your mood.

And no, it does not cause wrinkles! Laugh as much as you like and as often as you can.

  • Implement A Moving Routine

Exercising regularly helps you bring your body up to its optimum level – stop skimping on it, pretty!

You feel better, look better, and even think better when you move your body regularly – it’s what it’s supposed to do after all.

If you don’t like working out at the gym, try taking on an active lifestyle.

Hike, swim, ski, do yoga or run. There are millions of options out there and once you’ve found what works for you, it becomes a staple in your life.

  • Replenish with good nutrition

Eating healthy is great for your skin and your body.

You can improve your health by eating the right foods.

This doesn’t mean you should give up your favorite treats.

You can still enjoy them but try to add more greens and proteins in your diet, decrease carbs and eat more fruit. This will leave you feeling fresh, energetic, and more attractive.

Combining healthy eating and working out will have an awesome effect on your attractiveness too!

I used to suffer from chronic adult acne on my chin and eating healthy fixed my skin in a few weeks only.

Just imagine how much it can do in the long run!

 

3) Basic Self Care For Your MIND

 

  • Challenge Yourself

Do not be satisfied with a mundane lifestyle.

Try your best to work toward your goals and achieve success in your daily life.

Challenge yourself in your work or business environment.

Apply for that promotion you’ve been eyeing. Further your studies in college.

Sharpen your mind and stimulate your senses.

  • Take Risks

Take risks to enhance your life experience. It can be scary but if you don’t try, you’ll miss on the opportunities that can change your life.

Taking the right risks enhances your confidence in your abilities and is a great way to learn your limits.

Your mind will surely be at peace if you know that you tried your best rather than waiting on the sidelines.

If you’re not a risk taker, start small – like changing your style or hair.

Acknowledge how good it feels to try something fresh, new and exciting.

This will lead to bigger and braver risks in time.

  • Have a Drink!

Having an occasional drink helps you relieve stress and actually become more open and relaxed.

A glass of wine here or there can also benefit your health.

It has amazing antioxidants that can also improve your skin.

Just make sure to drink in moderation. Too much of a good thing can be bad!

Of course, do not consume alcohol if you have existing problems with drinking.

Also, check if it’s compatible with any medications you use.

  • After all of this, do not forget to take a step back and breathe.
