As time passes, subtle signs of aging start appearing on our faces and give away all the secrets. It may be crow’s feet, smile lines or wrinkles, and each one will tell the tales of your time. Today I want to discuss one particularly noticeable effect of aging, and this is… The lip wrinkles.
How To Get Rid Of Lip Wrinkles Naturally
What Causes Lip Wrinkles
Lip wrinkles appear as a result of reduced collagen production, which causes the lips to become thinner and wrinkled. Most people experience them as the first sign of aging, but they can also appear due to genetics or stress.
There is nothing quite as distressing as seeing your once plump and full lips getting filled with lip wrinkles, but don’t worry because you can reduce them or at least make them less noticeable! In this article, I am discussing a few natural methods that will help you to get rid of lip wrinkles and bring those beautiful lips back to life.
Get Rid Of Lip Wrinkles: Simple Solutions That Work
Use sun protection
Even though we don’t realize it, our lips need just as much sun protection than any other part of our face. A lot of women seem to forget their lip care, which results in saggy, wrinkled lips. Not only the lips, but the skin around your lips is also susceptible to harmful rays and need special protection from the sun.
You should invest in a sunscreen with a minimum of 30 SPF, and make sure to apply it every 2 hours while you are out in the sun. For the lips, your best bet is to buy a lip balm with a sun shield and reapply it throughout the day to prevent the drying effect on lips. Make sure that the lip balm has hydrating ingredients like Shea butter or Cocoa butter for the best results.
Exfoliate your lips
Exfoliating your lips is a fantastic way to remove dead skin, which reveals new skin underneath and may help you to make lip wrinkles less noticeable. If you want to keep your lips looking fresh and plump, exfoliate your lips at least once a week.
Exfoliating not only reduces lip wrinkles but also improves dark and uneven toned lips! You can buy an exfoliator or make one at home, and since I love home remedies for beauty, I’ll give you the recipe for my Holy Grail lip scrub that you can make in under five minutes! Just mix a tablespoon of brown sugar with one tablespoon olive oil (and some honey if you have), and massage it on your lips in a circular motion. This lip scrub will gently exfoliate and moisturize the skin of your lips, which can help you to get rid of lip wrinkles naturally (or at least makes them softer).
Massage with Vitamin E oil
Vitamin E is a potent anti-oxidant, and it does wonders to promote collagen production in the skin (we produce less and less collagen as we age). You can rub a few drops of Vitamin E oil on your lips and the skin around the lips twice a day to plump them up and smooth all fine lines and lip wrinkles.
You can also use Bio-Oil, which is a super-popular natural oil blend that works wonders on scars, stretch marks and signs of aging (including lip wrinkles!):
I mean, this stuff is superb! It helped me to get rid of small wrinkles on my face + 12.000+ people on Amazon gave it 4 or 5-star review, so I guess I’m not alone!
To get rid of lip wrinkles, do face workouts! 😯😙😯😙
The muscles in our bodies are designed to keep their tone, and they’re toned the most when they are regularly and correctly worked out. Just like the rest of the body, the facial muscles also require exercise to keep muscles strong and toned, which will help to prevent lip wrinkles and lip lines. (Don’t worry, I don’t want you to attempt weight lifting with your lips!)
You can choose a lip exercise and repeat it at least 20 times daily for the best results:
- For the first method, you close your mouth and lift one corner of the mouth to turn your lips into a half-smile. Repeat on both sides.
- In the second method, you attempt to make a big “O” shape with the mouth while keeping your teeth hidden with your lips. These exercises gently stretch your lips and tone the muscles to increases elasticity and reduce lip wrinkles.
Facial exercise may feel useless at first, but over time you will notice a visible change in the appearance of your lips and a reduction in lip wrinkles.
Drink plenty of water
This one is a no brainer. Your body needs water, and if you are dehydrated, the result is parched skin, dry patches, and – you guessed it – lip wrinkles! Aim to get at least eight glasses of water every day to give your body the hydration that it craves. You will notice a general improvement in body health along with improved skin texture and reduced lip wrinkles.
