A White Bottle Of Vaseline On Blue Tble And White Flowers

Vaseline is a staple that can be found in many homes, yet often it’s used only as a remedy for chapped lips or dry hands, with its full potential not being explored.

Petroleum jelly, or Vaseline, is a byproduct of petroleum production and this jelly is refined many times before selling it to consumers. The multi-refinement process makes this material clean and safe to use on our body, and I’m sure you know the main reason why it’s so popular!

Vaseline is an excellent moisturizer thanks to its ability to lock the moisture in our skin by creating an effective barrier. It also has a pleasant, soft, and silky texture that makes it gentle enough to use on any skin type.

On top of it all, Vaseline can be one of the most effective components in many beauty hacks!

Today I want to show you that Vaseline is much more versatile than you may think. Keeping your skin hydrated with Vaseline is just the tip of an iceberg and I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised when you’ll learn of all these vaseline uses that can help you every day.

Vaseline Uses For Body

1. Make a Vaseline-Based Body Scrub

The intense moisturizing properties of Vaseline make it an ideal base for a body scrub, and it’s one of the favorite vaseline uses all over the world!

Making a vaseline body scrub is as simple as mixing equal amounts of Vaseline and brown sugar, and you can use this mix to exfoliate your body, lips, dry heels, elbows, and even face if your skin is not too sensitive.

You can also get creative by adding anything you like into your vaseline-based body scrub – just like you would do with oil scrubs. Enhance your Vaseline scrub with essential oils, mashed avocado, honey, or rose water.

P. S. Out of sugar? No problem! You can substitute it with sea salt, baking soda, or coffee grounds.

2. Use Vaseline To Prevent Blisters

When you buy a new pair of shoes, they may feel uncomfortable and rub against your foot causing uncomfortable blisters. To prevent them, dab on a little Vaseline on your foot in areas where your shoes are causing the most friction. It will easily prevent any blisters from ever forming.

Speaking of shoes… Here’s one of my favorite Vaseline uses for them! Use Vaseline to buff and shine your shoes, just like you would do with shoe polish. They will be sparkling! And you know what’s super great? You can use Vaseline to shine your leather bags, and other leather items too.

3. Heal Minor Skin Problems With Vaseline Applications

Small scrapes, burns, and closed cuts can all be treated with Vaseline because Vaseline is gentle and moisturizing enough to create a protective layer. In fact, one of the most popular Vaseline uses is applying petroleum jelly on new tattoos to help them heal faster.

Before applying Vaseline on any scrape or skin issue, make sure that the area is clean and disinfected.

4. Calm Skin With Vaseline After Shaving Or Waxing

Oh, that painfully dry skin after depilation… It can get really ugly if you’re out of after-shave cream or if your skin is too sensitive to lotions and creams. This is where calming irritated skin comes as one of my all-time favorite Vaseline uses.

My skin is very sensitive and anything related to hair removal means it will get dry and irritated after… But surprisingly, Vaseline is one of the few things that can calm my irritated skin in a few minutes, without aggravating it further.

5. Prevent Weird Self Tanner Lines

The best Vaseline tricks don’t end with caring for your delicate skin… If you’re a fan of self-tanning, these Vaseline uses will save you a ton of nerves.

Do you remember those weird self-tanner lines you get around your hands, elbows, knees, feet, and knuckles? Next time you have your tanning day, apply Vaseline on all of those areas where you usually get them.

Also, saturate your knees and elbows with Vaseline to prevent them from absorbing too much self-tanner. You’ll be surprised how even and smooth your self-tan will come out – all thanks to the good old petroleum jelly.

6. Vaseline Uses For Chafing

Ugh, chafing! The constant companion on your workouts or hot summer days when you’re wearing shorts or dresses. Not only is chafing annoying, but it can easily lead to rashes if you’re not doing anything to help it.

Here are a few Vaseline uses that help prevent chafing:

  1. Apply Vaseline on your inner thighs when you wear a skirt, dress, or shirt. Reapply once you feel your thighs painfully rubbing again.
  2. Apply Vaseline in the places where you usually get a lot of friction during workouts. This can be around your thighs, your nipples, and your inner arms.

7. Use Vaseline To Grow Eyelashes Longer

This is one of the favorite Vaseline uses for women all over the world – you can use vaseline to grow eyelashes longer, stronger, and thicker! And even though it’s not scientifically proven, a vast amount of women tried Vaseline as an eyelash growth serum and reported positive results (including me!).

Vaseline is generally safe to use around the eye area (just don’t dab it into your actual eyeball, eh) and I’ve seen my first results in about a few weeks of using Vaseline every night.

8. Vaseline Uses For Brows

Brows have a tendency to get unruly and messy throughout the day, and they are never perfect by the time you get home. Thankfully, there are quite a few Vaseline uses for brows that can help you achieve beautiful eyebrows with minimal effort:

  1. As with your eyelashes, you can use Vaseline to condition eyebrows and make them stronger.
  2. Moisturizing with Vaseline can also help you to regrow overplucked eyebrows.
  3. To prevent messy eyebrows, use a mascara wand, and apply a little bit of Vaseline to your brows – it will help them to stay in place.
  4. Mix a little bit of Vaseline with brown eyeshadow to DIY an eyebrow gel. It’s wonderful for photos but I’ve also tried it several times in public and it holds the hair in place surprisingly well!

9. Use Vaseline To Tame Frizz & Add Shine To Your Hair

If you have frizzy hair, you can use vaseline to make it appear healthier and tidier. You don’t need much – just rub a little bit of vaseline between your fingers and apply it with a few gentle strokes. Not only will it tame the frizz, but it will also add a healthy shine to your precious locks.

10. Use Vaseline To Remove Eye Makeup

Another of my favorite Vaseline uses is to gently remove makeup around the eyes. You know how tedious it is to remove mascara and lash glue from your delicate eyelids… Vaseline does this job perfectly without any irritation. Simply scoop some Vaseline with your fingers, close your eyes, and massage gently until you feel the mascara dissolve. Remove with a damp facial cloth, cotton pad, or a makeup wipe.

Using Vaseline to remove eye makeup will also leave your eyelashes moisturized (in case you’re not a fan of using Vaseline as a lash conditioner).

11. Highlight Your Features With Vaseline Glow

If you ever run out of a highlighter or want to sport a glowing face without too much makeup, Vaseline can do the trick!

You can use Vaseline to highlight the high points of your face, enhance the cheekbones, and emphasize your Cupid’s bow with a naturally luminous finish, like this:

12. Use Vaseline To DIY Cream Blush or Cream Eyeshadow

Do you have a broken powder blush or eyeshadow that you really love? Turn it into an awesome cream product! Mix some Vaseline with the powder and apply it to your cheeks or eyelids for a beautiful glowing finish. You can even use Vaseline to create your own lip gloss!

13. Use Vaseline To Prolong Your Perfume Scent

If you ever wondered if there is a way to make your perfume last longer, Vaseline may be the answer! Apply some Vaseline to your wrists and neck before spraying the perfume on and the scent will linger longer due to the absorbing properties of petroleum jelly.

14. Tidy Up Your Manicure

There is nothing more annoying than nail polish that spreads outside the nail, and it can be difficult to remove it without ruining your manicure. To prevent this, apply a thin layer of Vaseline around the nails before painting them and the nail polish won’t stick to your skin. Perfect manicure every time!

15. Use Vaseline To Put Earrings In Easier

It can be really painful to try and get your earrings in, especially when you haven’t worn them for a while. Instead of wrestling with your ears and putting yourself through pain, put a little Vaseline on your ears and the earring will slide in a lot easier.
