We all want our lives to be better, don’t we?
But we often end up making goals so big that we can hardly achieve them.
The truth is that you don’t have to climb the highest mountain or dig up the gold to improve your life significantly… Some simple changes and better choices can help you to achieve a better life quality with minimal effort.
It is all about the little things that add up and provide a huge impact on your life.
If you often wonder how to improve your life and don’t know where to start, this article is for you!
Taking small, but meaningful steps can help you to make big changes over time.
Here are a few simple and interesting things that you can do to improve your life without doing something big.
How To Improve Your Life With MINIMAL Effort
Learn a New Skill Online
There might be something on your list that you always wanted to learn but never got the time or motivation to do.
Maybe you want to learn a new language, using a sewing machine, practicing Photoshop, or anything else that feels interesting and useful.
This is the time to do that!
A great way to learn new things with minimal effort is by enrolling in online courses.
My favorite place for that is Udemy (read here why and how to get great courses for cheap!).
You can also start continuing the activity that you’ve left in the past.
Choose the most convenient skill and get on with it (looking at you, dusty guitar!).
You will feel fresh and inspired with each new thing you learn or rekindle.
Start a Yoga Routine
Don’t want to join a gym and bind yourself to it?
No worries.
You can always spend a few minutes doing an easy yoga workout at home.
Exercise is not only for staying fit but it also improves your mental health, mood, and confidence.
When you exercise, your brain releases the chemicals that make you feel pleasure and relaxation – this is one of the easiest ways to improve your life with just a few minutes a day!
Make a Priority List
Another simple way to improve your life with minimal effort is to create a priority list.
It takes no more than 20 minutes and it can help you make better decisions and organize your life bit by bit, with not much effort spent.
To do that, sit, relax, and make a list of the things that really matter to you in your life.
Then make a list of things that are not a priority and make a decision to not focus on them too much, or eliminate them completely if possible.
This way, you will be able to see what things are useful to you and what is just being dragged into your life without adding any meaning to it.
The ultimate goal of this list is to help you make the most of each day.
Reconnect With Old Friends
We all know how joyful and happy we feel when we meet an old friend (and I mean a real friend, not just a “friend” kind of friend).
Most of the time, we get too busy with our lives that we are only left with memories of people we used to spend a lot of a great time with.
If you want to improve your life, adding these healthy & happy relationships back can do more than you expect.
Call your friend, meet them, talk and you might end up having a lot of beautiful ideas or activities together.
Learn To Reward Yourself
How to improve your life if you’re lazy and unmotivated?
Learn to gamify your days!
Too often, we either take ourselves for granted or we think that we only deserve to reward ourselves after achieving something BIG.
Both approaches are wrong.
Setting small tasks and giving yourself a little reward after you do them can improve your life drastically.
It doesn’t have to be something big – you can reward yourself even for simple everyday tasks like washing the dishes.
This will provide you an extra boost of happiness and motivation to do more tasks and over time, it will improve the quality of your life for sure.
Face a Small Fear
We all have fears.
It is a part of life and no one can deny it.
But these fears can often hold us back.
Some fears are valid (as if you are scared of snakes), it is totally fine.
But, some fears are small, yet strong enough to create deep-rooted anxiety that can hold you back from moving forward.
Do you hate answering or making phone calls?
Do you tend to stay silent in group conversations?
Are you scared to try out new things because they’re something you’re not used to?Â
These are just a few examples of small fears that can all add up and limit your life significantly.
You can confront those fears with the help of a friend or a loved one.
It may be hard and intimidating at first, but you will feel good about yourself when you do something that you don’t expect from yourself.
So, how to improve your life?
It is a question that can be answered in many ways. You can make it complicated, or you can focus on the simplest things you can do to make yourself feel better.
These minimal efforts are ways to make change possible.
Sure, dreaming big and giving your 100% is also a solution, but for some people, choosing bigger goals is simply not the best option and that’s totally fine!
You can improve your life by taking small steps as well.
