After Steaming Face Care Products

“What to do after steaming your face?

Should I use actives, or stay with a general moisturizer?”

Face saunas have been popular for quite some time now.

This simple procedure helps improve skin quality by opening up pores and reducing wrinkles.

Plus, it feels nice – what’s there not to love?

The steam also helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, unclog pores, and soften the facial skin.

So, basically, what you are doing when you use a face sauna is improving your skin’s health and appearance.

Now, there are many ways to care for your skin after steaming your face – and they’re pretty much important.

If you don’t do anything after steaming your face, you’re doing more harm than good and you’re losing precious opportunities to allow your skin to soak up all the good stuff better.

In this article, you will learn what to do after steaming your face, according to your personal skin type.

Turns out, the difference exists!

What To Do After Steaming Your Face

1. What To Do After Steaming DRY Skin

If you have dry skin, you should focus on adding moisture back to your skin and locking it in.

A regular moisturizer is the least you can do, but if you want your skin to feel amazing do a whole set of moisturizing:

  • Apply a moisture-rich face pack or sheet mask;
  • Clench the skin thirst with hyaluronic acid skin serum;
  • Seal everything in with a lightweight moisturizer.

For extra benefits, you can also add herbal extracts to your after-steaming skincare.

For example, you can use raspberry leaves tea, almond oil, and sesame seed oil to moisturize your dry skin right after steaming.

These herbs are ideal for people with dry skin thanks to the fatty substances and antioxidants that are extremely helpful for dry skin.

In addition, they have mild antibacterial properties, making them good for healing impurities and improving overall skin health.

2. What To Do After Steaming SENSITIVE Skin

If your skin is sensitive, your after-steam care should include a final round of mild cleansing before you call it a day.

Use mild facial cleansers and mild toners for your face to fully and completely remove any impurities left after steaming your face.

A mild toner cleans the dirt, grime, and impurities from your face, while a mild cleanser also removes the excess oil from your face.

After that, follow up with a hypoallergenic moisturizer (the one that is free of fragrance, chemicals, and skin irritants) to lock the moisture back into your reactive skin and soothe any irritation.

3. What To Do After Steaming OILY Skin

Oily skin definitely benefits from steaming, but the extra moisture and heat can make it a bit more oily right after your face sauna session.

For those having oily skin, and preferring natural skincare, it’s great to use diluted lemon juice to remove excess oil right after facial steaming.

If your oily skin is also sensitive, use rose water toner instead which is gentler and more soothing.

Other useful additions for oily skin after-steam care include aloe vera gel, hyaluronic acid serum, and a good-quality pore-tightening sheet mask.

What To Do 1 Week After Steaming Your Face

Most experts agree that the best way to get all of the face steaming benefits is to follow a regular routine.

You should have a face steaming session once a week, preferably first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

The morning face steaming routine can be easily done with a hot cleansing cloth or washcloth, and your night routine (when you have more time) is the best time to use your face sauna device.

Face Steaming Is Great For Your Skin!

Just make sure to listen to your skin and give it what it wants after an intense sweat session!

Don’t be afraid to experiment and find out what works for your particular skin, but these general guidelines should be an easy way to start.
