Are you looking to change the way you think about your life, work, and your abilities? I have great news for you, pretty! Today I will tell you about three amazing books that changed my attitude completely. They can change yours too!

Read on to learn which books are worth reading if you are suffering from negative thinking, lack of motivation or a burnout.

I‘ll be honest here – if I didn‘t get my hands on these a few years ago, I would still be that depressed, grumpy lady I was my early twenties.

In fact, these books taught me something so valuable that I felt like I grew as a person in just a few days which is simply amazing.

In fact, there’s a whole story around these books + why and how they helped me so much.

You see, I’m a little pessimistic person, to begin with.

It doesn‘t mean I only look at the negative things all the time.

But anxiety and a little gloomier outlook on life have always been inside me.

It’s not that bad now since I learned to flow with it but I don’t think anyone can be completely cured of anxiety (you see? I told you I’m a little pessimistic).

I used to think that my life should be perfect, with no problems at all (it’s crazy, I know!).

Me being an introvert allergic to conflicts and drama also added a lot to this unhealthy mindset.

So when something bad happened (a problem, a conflict, an unfortunate event), I always felt like the perfect world in my head gets shattered in pieces.

Needless to say, it really lowered my self esteem and interfered with my ability to.. go forward.

On the worst days, I would feel completely lost.

I had absolutely no interest in everyday life.

I battled negative thoughts.

Work looked scary.

The people I met looked „fake”.

The future just looked like a dark forest on the longest night of the year!

The things changed when I understood that I must stop being a victim.

Many people fall into the trap of blaming everyone and everything else, but not themselves. And I was one of them.

Worst of all – being a victim is easy and comfortable since you never force yourself to change anything.

So even though my life looked like a monochromatic movie, I finally understood that I‘m the only one who can paint it with colors. It’s not my environment, not circumstances or other people – only me.

Since I was mentally exhausted, I was incapable of doing it on my own.

I didn‘t want to go to the therapy either so I decided to look for books that could give me that oh-so-needed motivation.

It was one of the best decisions of my life! I’m going to tell you about the three books that gave me the most value.

Question: Book to read if you feel anxious and overly negative?

Answer: Feeling Good : The New Mood Therapy by David. M. Burns

If anyone ever asked me what‘s the single best book I could recommend, it would be this particular book.

Let me remind you that by the time I got my hands on it I was very pessimistic.

You can imagine how skeptical I was!

But this book made me feel better almost immediately.

In fact, it was so liberating that I finished the book in two days feeling like I have reached some kind of nirvana.

You may think „okay, so this must be one of those brainwash books“. But it‘s quite the opposite.

  1. This book teaches you to recognize incorrect thoughts that are going on auto-repeat in your head. Sometimes even for years!
  2. After you recognize these distorted thoughts, you learn to end them with simple writing methods. It may be harder at first because, well, you have to face your fears and insecurities! But after a little practice, you start doing it automatically in your head.
  3. The result? You feel relieved, happier and motivated almost instantly. Bad thoughts start to visit less often.

I don‘t want to spoil it for you so if you feel stuck, anxious or unhappy, this book will change it for sure!

You can get Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy on Amazon for around 7.99$

Question: Book to read if you feel unmotivated and stuck?

Answer: Awaken The Giant Within by Tony Robbins

If you haven‘t heard about Tony Robins yet, he is a guy who helped millions to achieve that inspiring “from zero to hero” result.

This book helps those who:

  • feel stuck in their own misery;
  • think that life will never be enjoyable again;
  • think that it’s too late to change it etc.

Entrepreneurs, career workers and at home moms – you name it – have changed their lives with simple and down-to-earth tips.

This book emphasizes that everyone has a huge potential inside.

But your negative thinking and constant self-roast are doing a great work of extinguishing it.

Reading this book will teach you to eliminate the boundaries and stop feeling numb.

You will implement a new, bold, brave character.

And you know what happens when you’re brave – you can do anything!

This is why it’s called “Awaken the giant within”.

The best thing? After you’ve read it, there is no way back.

You will never be the same person again.

Your bar will already be set really high.

There will be times when you’ll feel low again (and that’s normal), but you’ll always remember what you’ve read.

This knowledge will put you back on track faster.

Question: Book to read if you have a burnout?

Answer: The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris

Another bestseller, perfect for those who struggle with too much work.

You can read it in one day since it’s not as long as the first two, but you get a lot of useful information.

Tim Ferris is an incredibly effective guy who will teach you to simplify, automate and optimize your work so you spend a minimum time working.

As a result, you have more free time and can actually start living.

I’ll be honest – some parts looked a little offensive to me at first.

“Working 4 hours a week? Still getting things done? that’s BS!” – I thought.

But after reading the whole book it was clear to me that you can work less and earn the same or more.

It all depends on where you put your energy to. Also, how automated things are.

It’s like a factory – if you put machines on the lines, you don’t have to stand near the lines yourself.

Want to use these books as a powerful self-therapy? Read them in the same order they’re presented here.

Feeling Good : The New Mood Therapy helps you fix negative thinking and develop brand new thinking patterns. You start to feel less burdened and happier.

Awaken The Giant Within will make you completely psyched (in the best possible way) so you can start acting. You will be planning, developing new habits and kicking the bad ones.

One of the best tips I’ve read on this book is “If you want to be successful in a particular thing, find your role model and do what he or she did to achieve that”.

It’s like an IKEA furniture – looks complex at first, but if you follow the instructions carefully, you will build it.

So if Tony Robbins is a very successful guy AND he is telling you how he did this then you have the instructions.

All you have to do is follow them build that furniture – the giant inside of you.

The 4-Hour Workweek will teach you to think outside the box and find ways to work smarter, not harder.

We aren’t put on this planet to work – we need to live.

This book will show you how to start living instead of existing.

That’s it! I hope you will try these books and benefits from them as well.

I actually had this habit of blaming everyone and everything else, but not myself. But I read this 4 hour work week and I actually learned how to start living instead of existing, and it was a great decision.
