Is this you?

You feel tired, lazy, and worse – uninspired.

Maybe there was something that you needed to do today but you just don’t have the motivation for it.

Maybe you are in love with your bed + phone, and you hardly feel the need to get up and do something productive.

Loss of inspiration and motivation affects us in several ways.

For example, you might put your professional career in danger because you are not productive right now and it could be the time when your company needs you the most.

Maybe there are important tasks you need to do for your life or family, or maybe you need to finish a project that’s been way overdue…

There are so many ways you can sabotage yourself by staying in this unhelpful mood.

Yet, you are feeling the guilt, but you can’t do anything about it – you just feel uninspired. It’s too hard to push through when your motivation is just lingering at point zero.

But, it happens to all of us.

One day, you are motivated and productive, and the next one you don’t want to even lift a finger.

If I have just described your life, do not worry, my fellow lazy-iac.

There are multiple ways to get your motivation back and put your wings back on.

Productivity improvement is possible if you do just a few little things that help you to recover and regain your energy fast.

Productivity Improvement Tips For People Who Feel Uninspired

1) REST!

Probably the most important of all productivity improvement tips is to take proper rest when you feel uninspired.

Sometimes we are just stressed out and we need to rest.

So, if you want to get back to being productive, you must give yourself this luxury of recovery.

Rest is an important part of recharging your batteries, so take as much time as you need and do nothing in that time.

I know, this sounds like a terrible idea when you have things burning to be done, but only by giving your mind and body enough rest, you can get back to being productive again.

If you’re stressing out about taking a break, you can use this time to think about what you need to do and how you will do this (writing a task list 100% helps here).

Take a brief nap, watch your favorite show, and skip a day at the gym if needed.

You will know the amount of rest you need because once your body starts to recover, you will feel your mood, energy, and inspiration coming back.

2) Set small deadlines

Do you have a big project and are scared by the size of it?

Don’t get burdened by all the work you have to do.

Set small milestones and challenges, then go through them step by step.

Set the targets as small as you can to make sure they don’t feel too big.

Set sub-deadlines if you need to.

Look at your capacity and plan your steps accordingly – once you start moving forward, you will know how to manage bigger projects too.

3) Reward yourself

Now that you have started taking small steps, it is wise to reward yourself on the way.

Give yourself a small reward after each achievement to keep your motivation levels up.

You can have a snack of your choice, a hot coffee in the calmest place you know, or do anything that brings you joy.

Rewards are your small milestones towards regaining productivity and getting inspired again.

4) Unplug

There are plenty of things that can keep you distracted on the way to peace.

Emails, calls, social media notifications, texts, and plenty of other things can easily take away a ton of your energy and leave you feeling tired and exhausted…

Take a break from all of these distractions.

Go on a trip and unplug your life from all these things that are silently draining – not forever, but just for a little, while you recover.

Your phone is your biggest distraction, so it is time to unplug it from your life and get some peace without it.

5) Focus on your self care

The best thing you can do to get yourself motivated and inspired again is to take better care of yourself. Practice self-care as much as you can because it can help you to regain inspiration a lot faster.

Take a spa day, have a nourishing meal, hang out with your friends and if you can, meditate every day. By practicing these things, you can regain your clarity and calm faster, because when you give yourself some time, you allow your burdens and negative self-talk to take the second plan.

This is what you need to get back on your feet!

P.S.

I’m a huge fan of practical planning.

One of the best ways to improve your productivity is to also lay down all those tasks and things you need to do on paper.

Additionally, it’s a great idea to plan your self care to make sure you don’t just work, or don’t just rest.

It’s Okay To Ask For Help…

Lack of inspiration may not seem like a serious thing in contrast to other problems one can face in their life.

However, it often disrupts our daily lives, work, and studies.

Deadlines can’t always wait for you to get your inspiration.

If nothing else helps you to get started, find out if there’s anyone you can get help from.

For instance, you can ask your colleague to help you finish a work project.

You can probably address an online essay service when lacking ideas for a huge essay on philosophy.

Looking for professional help is not shameful – it’s smart and it can even make you more inspired in the process.

These productivity improvement ideas are my absolute favorite and I try to practice them every time when I’m feeling uninspired. You might think that you will never be able to get as productive as you were, but that is not true.

You just need to be consistent with a few things that help you to regain balance and your productivity will be back.
